Rebecca Rue concentrates on family law practice here at Wood & Rue. The hallmarks of her practice center on level-headedness, organization and a dedication to the facts of any given case. She refuses to tell people what they want to hear, and instead offers straightforward advice aimed at helping clients get through the tough times and onto a brighter and happier future.

Prior to joining Wood & Rue in 1999, Rebecca worked as a law clerk for the Family Law and Juvenile Block for an Anoka County judge. It is during her time here that she became passionate about becoming an advocate for clients involved in the family law process.

In addition, she has experienced her own family legal problems, including understanding the challenges of raising a child as a single mother and going through the divorce process. These personal experiences provide her with invaluable insight into what clients are experiencing and feeling, which helps her provide targeted representation.

Rebecca runs a well-oiled practice in many thanks to her balanced lifestyle. She makes sure to participate in activities that make her happy, ranging from biking, walking and hiking to scrapbooking, taking and editing photographs, and playing with her dogs.

Emily Wood

Emily Wood concentrates in the areas of estate planning, probate, guardianship, conservatorship, step parent adoption, landlord/tenant, and real estate. She is the current Meeker County Examiner of Titles and the Litchfield City Attorney.

Emily recognizes many people have anxieties about legal proceedings and working with an attorney. On top of this, individuals usually seek legal advice during stressful moments of their lives. Emily’s goal for her practice is to alleviate her clients’ anxieties regarding their legal matters by providing honest and compassionate guidance.

Emily joined Wood & Rue in 2018. Before joining the office, Emily worked as a judicial law clerk for Judge Thompson in Kandiyohi County and Meeker County. While clerking for Judge Thompson, Emily was exposed to a variety of criminal and civil cases, which established a good foundation for her practice.

Emily previously worked as a law clerk for a Minneapolis based firm where she prepared documents for estate planning, probate administration, probate litigation, guardianship, and conservatorship matters. Through this work, Emily developed a passion for protecting vulnerable populations from exploitation.

Outside of the office, Emily enjoys traveling with friends and family. Her travels often include destinations with a baseball field, numerous historical sites, or mountains. She’s always on the lookout for her next adventure. Emily also enjoys playing piano and reading (non-legal) books.
